About us
Not your traditional patent firm.
Most patent help comes from attorneys who have only ever worked from the outside. Examiners Edge® is led by the person who used to sit on the other side of the desk — a former U.S. patent examiner who decided yes or no.
Founder
Gary O’Neill
Managing Director · Former U.S. Patent Examiner · Registered Patent Agent
For a decade, Gary approved and rejected patents for the U.S. government. He examined well over 1,000 applications across complex engineering fields and went head-to-head with the top attorneys representing DOW 30 and Fortune 500 companies — Amazon, Intel, Samsung, 3M, Sony and more.
He saw thousands of applications win and lose from the inside. He knows which arguments move an examiner, which tactics overcome rejections, and which simply burn your money. He founded Examiners Edge® to give everyday inventors and growing companies that same insider edge.
“Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.” — Sun Tzu
What we believe
Patents are strategy, not paperwork.
Speed is protection
Every month your application sits unexamined is a month competitors can move. We prosecute aggressively so your innovation is secured sooner.
Offense wins markets
A patent isn’t only a shield. Used well, it limits what rivals can build and protects your share of the market.
Plain answers, fixed products
No legalese, no surprise billable hours. You get a clear plan, a clear quote, and straight talk about what your idea really needs.
The team
Who’s in your corner
